Qualifications and Experiences

• At least three years of proven working track record in mining – blasting
• Proven experience in open pits or underground mines or quarries
• Advanced knowledge of electronic detonators as a big advantage
• Engineer of Mining degree as an advantage
• Key factors: proactive attitude, desire to learn, independence, innovative thinking – desire to bring the product feedback and to improve the product, time flexibility, willingness to travel

Duties & Responsibilities

Daily duties will vary based on the type of extracted materials, the nature and equipment of the site and the people. Regardless of those circumstances, you must uphold company values and ensure the outcomes align with our mission and vision.

Site Inspections & People Development

• Regularly visiting and inspecting customers’ mining, quarry and construction sites in the ANZ-PNG region to advise the best ways of extraction.
• Liaising with and supporting managerial staff, training and supervising technical staff on best practices,
• Cooperating and advising in the customers’ planning and utilising labour and equipment consistent with targets, safety guidelines and environmental conditions.

Advisory Services & Extraction excellence

• Designing, advising, devising and determining drill and blast patterns, locations and use of explosives, and determining the most suitable extraction methods to achieve optimum extracting results.
• Advising and cooperation in planning tunnels or layouts of mine development and applying appropriate mining techniques.
• Producing models or plans for customers’ sites using our proprietary E*STAR electronic initiation system and software solutions.
• Ascertaining the technical, financial and safety risks associated with the projects’ phases, construction or operations.
• Planning and implementing our initiation systems for open pit or underground sites, quarries and tunnel operations, assessing all risks at all phases of the projects.
• Providing technical support for our E*STAR products.

Enhancing Operations & Our Offerings

• Using technology, operating drones and adopting new techniques to analyze pre-extraction data and maximize production. Supporting colleagues responsible for the compliance, including post-blast analysis, vibration and noise monitoring.
• Ensuring that conducted operations comply with our and customers’ health and safety requirements.
• Ensure accurate and timely progress reports are made to ensure deadlines are kept in line with budget estimates.
• Promoting our services and products to maximize customer benefits and operation safety.

Professional & Business development

• Actively seeking continuous education and acquiring new digital and soft skills to deliver the best possible customer experience.
• Reporting customer needs (product feedback gathering) and closely working with our R&D teams to deliver solutions through our products and services for imminent and future industry trends. That includes environmental and social aspects, automation and robotics, artificial intelligence and cyber resilience.
