Juramento Plant, El Galpón, Salta
Juramento Plant is Austin Powder’s first manufacturing plant in Latin America to produce ammonium nitrate, a non-combustible component that is used in other Austin Powder products.
Austin Powder built an ammonium nitrate production complex 21 km from the town of El Galpón, Salta, where USD 360 million were invested.
The production complex has four plants, one for the production of ammonia, another for the production of nitric acid, one for the production of ammonium nitrate -which is manufactured by mixing the above products-, and a fourth for general services. The plants will produce 85,000 tons of ammonium nitrate per year to meet the needs of the domestic market and exports.
This industrial development drives the social and economic growth of the area.

The production process at Juramento Plant begins with natural gas which is converted into Anhydrous Ammonia. This, in turn, is used to produce Nitric Acid, Ammonium Nitrate Solution, Ammonion Nitrate Prill LD, which Austin Powder uses in the manufacture of our finished products and blasting services. All products are sold for other companies to use in their manufacturing processes as well.
