Our Family is Growing! In January, Austin Powder acquired the majority stake in Nitrosul, the Brazilian company that produces explosives and blasting services for the construction and mining industry. This is the first Austin Powder operation in Brazil.
Nitrosul Explosives is a Brazilian company founded in 2004 to develop products and provide quality services with a focus on satisfying the needs of its customers. This vision was the basis for the rapid growth of the company that, with more than 15 years in the explosives market, manufactures and markets the entire range of products necessary for precise and safe operations. Among its customers are open-pit and underground mines and civil works throughout the country, such as hydroelectric plant projects, roads, railways, and ports.
Nitrosul’s headquarters are strategically located in the south of Minas Gerais, the state with the highest concentration of mineral extraction in the country, close to the main centers such as Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Belo Horizonte, and to the major highways that connect the whole country.
