This $209 million Design-Build project is West Virginia Department of Highways’ largest to date. It includes the design, grade, and drain for US 48 (Corridor H) and the US 219 Connector. The work includes 12 million cubic yards (9.17 million cubic meters) of heavy earthwork, significant rock blasting, and five bridge structures ranging up to 1,200 fr (365 m) long and 250 ft (76 m) tall. Austin Powder provides explosives and blasting for the prime contractor, Kokosing Construction Company inc. Austin began blasting on the project in 2017.
