Local audits are conducted by auditors from various organizational levels trained to evaluate practices and procedures to ensure compliance with the SHES Manual. This ongoing process is performed according to a year-round program, leading to the identification of improvement opportunities. These opportunities are addressed through an interdisciplinary approach aimed at continuous improvement.
The global SHES team performs Basis of Safety audits, a critical step for the License to Operate (LTO) process. The LTO is reviewed and renewed annually and is subject to the completion of the identified actions.
External suppliers and auditors may assist with these processes if audit findings require specialized technical services. The results of both local and global audit processes are essential inputs for preparing the Letter of Assurance. This key document, prepared annually, reflects the previous year’s results, the challenges faced, and those that still lie ahead. It also demonstrates management’s commitment to continuous improvement in the SHES aspects of our operations.
