At Austin Powder, our chemicals are used to make our products

We use natural gas to make ammonia and that enables us to make Nitric Acid, Ammonium Nitrate (AN) PETN, ANFO, and Emulsion.

PETN (Pentaerythritol tetranitrate) is a high explosive used to make many of our products, including detonating cord, detonators, and boosters. ANFO is produced by mixing solid AN prills with fuel oil. ANFO can be bagged or used in bulk loading applications. Emulsion consists of two phases, an aqueous oxidizer solution, and the fuel phase. This type of explosive is not sensitive to friction or impact.
