Austin Powder continues to make progress in protecting and conserving the local ecosystems where it operates, setting up environmental programs to mitigate the impacts of these activities.
We run ongoing wildlife monitoring programs—especially of birds, key indicators of ecosystem health—which show stable species diversity near our sites. At the Juramento complex in Salta, Argentina, only 50 of 868 hectares are used industrially; the remaining land is preserved as an ecological reserve, supporting local flora and fauna and demonstrating successful coexistence between industry and nature.
Intrachem in Zimbabwe has launched a new initiative focused on expanding green spaces, continuing its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. The project consists of planting grass and citrus trees around the facility, creating a vibrant and ecological environment. This not only contributes to the company’s environmental goals but also improves the well-being of the local community and in-house employees, providing them with a healthier and more pleasant environment.
In 2024, Austin Powder launched a long-term reforestation project at its Rafaela and La Florida plants, focusing on planting native species to improve environmental quality, promote biodiversity, and combat climate change. The project includes ongoing tree planting, maintenance, and the involvement of employees in environmental activities. More than 200 native species have been planted in different areas of the manufacturing plants, after collecting their seeds and storing them in proper conditions for growth.
